Dear Parents and Guardians
Â
Weeks four and five of term were very busy for the boarding community, marked by the Year Seven camp at Swan Valley Adventure Centre. The experience provided our students with ample opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, engage in exciting activities and forge stronger connections within their year group.
Despite the sweltering heat, the resilience and enthusiasm displayed by the boys were commendable. They embraced the challenges with smiles and laughter, eagerly participating in everything from raft building to the flying fox and other team-building exercises.
This camp coincided with the important Departure Ceremonies for the Rite Journey program, which plays a pivotal role in guiding Year 9 boys as they transition from childhood to young adulthood. Programs like these are crucial in todayâs changing landscape, helping boys develop essential life skills, confidence and camaraderie.
As many of you know, we have been accommodating a group of Year 8 boys off-campus for the past five weeks while Wilson House on the Cebula campus underwent a substantial refurbishment. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the refurbishment is now complete. We now have 10 very happy boys residing in a state-of-the-art facility that has been meticulously designed to provide an outstanding learning and living environment. The upgrades not only enhance the boysâ day-to-day experience but also foster a sense of community and belonging.
Â
I would like to extend my thanks to the boys who resided off-campus for their flexibility and cooperation during this transition. Their adaptability has been commendable. I would also like to thank all staff who supported the boys during this time away from Cebula Boarding.
