Student Voice Update– Creating a Cleaner, Greener Brookside!
Our Student Voice team has been working hard on some exciting initiatives to improve our Brookside environment, with a particular focus on reducing litter, encouraging recycling and building pride in our College.
Students have been working in groups to develop creative ways to encourage our school community to take responsibility for keeping Brookside clean and tidy.
Here's what's coming…
- Student-Led Awareness Videos: Students are creating videos to highlight the impact of littering and demonstrate how small actions, such as putting rubbish in the bin, can make a big difference to our college environment. These videos will be shared with students across the school.
- Anti-Littering Posters: Another group is designing educational posters to be displayed throughout the College, encouraging students to make positive choices and take pride in their surroundings.
- 10-Cent Recycling Challenge: Students are preparing to launch an exciting recycling initiative where classes will collect eligible 10-cent containers to raise money. The class that raises the most money in each year level will be able to use their earnings towards a class celebration in the final week of the year! This is a fantastic opportunity to promote recycling while working together towards a shared goal.
- House-Coloured Bins: Another Student Voice group is working on transforming our rubbish bins into house-coloured bins. Students are exploring ways to link responsible rubbish disposal to our house points system, creating a fun and positive incentive for everyone to do the right thing.
These initiatives are a wonderful example of student voice in action, with students identifying an area for improvement, developing solutions and taking meaningful steps to create positive change.
We are incredibly proud of the leadership, creativity and teamwork demonstrated by our Student Voice representatives and look forward to seeing these initiatives come to life.
Together, we can all play a part in creating a cleaner, greener Brookside.
Warm regards,
Mr Ryan and Miss Karras
