Over the next fortnight, our SWPBS focus will be Rights Learning Spaces.

We are continuing to build a safe, respectful and positive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to learn, participate and succeed.

As part of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support approach, we are explicitly teaching and reinforcing the behaviours that help everyone learn and feel safe in our classrooms.

We encourage all students to demonstrate our three key expectations:

  • We bring the right equipment to class. Being prepared and having the resources we need helps us make the most of every learning opportunity.

  • We walk in the classroom. Walking safely helps protect the rights of everyone to feel safe and comfortable in our learning spaces.

  • We raise our hand to contribute. Taking turns, listening to others and raising our hands allows everyone to share their ideas, be heard and participate respectfully.

These simple but important behaviours help create classrooms where students can focus on learning, feel valued and respect the rights of others.

We encourage families to support these expectations by discussing them at home and reinforcing the importance of being prepared, moving safely and contributing respectfully to classroom discussions.

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Information Night

We warmly invite all parents, carers and members of our school community to attend our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Information Night.

This information session will provide an opportunity to learn more about our school’s approach to promoting positive behaviour, building a supportive learning environment and ensuring that all students understand and demonstrate our shared school-wide expectations.

During the evening, we will share updates on our new School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Expectations Matrix, which is planned to be launched in 2027. The matrix will outline our school-wide expectations and provide a consistent approach to supporting positive behaviour across all areas of school life.

We value the voices of our families and community and encourage parents and carers to attend, ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed matrix before its launch in the new year. Your input is an important part of ensuring our expectations reflect our school values and create a positive, safe and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

We look forward to seeing our families and community come together to learn, share ideas and help shape a positive future for our school.
