2024 sport has started with a bang. Heathmont College held their inaugural Swimming Carnival on Monday 5th February. It was an amazing turn out by the students who embraced the cooler weather after the weekend heat wave.  

Heathmont took over Aquanation both inside and out. Outside students were treated to the musical stylings of DJ Lynch who got the party started and kept the hype up throughout the day. Students were able to participate in an array of novelty events from sack races, badminton, beach volleyball, spike ball and our Biathlon which saw the outside meet the inside with a foot race to a 50m swim.  

In the pool School records were being smashed, some that had been long standing at the School. Every event our announcers were busy Congratulating our new Heathmont World Record holders.  

Inflatable races, over and under races and our House 10 min swim were the big hits of the pool. These pool novelty races allow all students to participate and have fun on the day.  

Water Polo – House vs House, Seniors vs Staff, nothing screams competition better than rivalries between Houses or Students being able to get one back on a teacher. The cheers were loud and deafening from the sidelines and it was so great to see so many students getting involved and having a go.  

The Winning house once again was Monash made all the more memorable by Mr Lawrence’s victory dance which we all wish had been filmed.  

Congratulations to all the Students that will be progressing onto Mullum Division on Friday 1st March.

Interschool Sport sign ups have gone up for Year 7, Inters and Seniors. Year 8’s will be advertised in the coming weeks. Sports you can choose for term 1 are.  

Tennis, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and Inters and Seniors can also select Cricket. Year 7s & 8s do cricket later in the year.  

If you haven’t signed up for a sport and would like to please see staff in the Stadium office.
