Tree Planting with Mr Jellie

On Friday 24 July, our School Captains, Environmental Leaders, Sustainability Monitors, Parent Helpers and Staff, rolled up their sleeves and got to work for our Tree Planting Day.

Throughout the day, our student leaders worked hard and with great enthusiasm to give our gardens a bit of love. They tackled a range of important tasks, including cleaning and rejuvenating existing garden beds, creating new planting areas, removing weeds, and planting an incredible 250+ indigenous trees across our school.

Their hard work will have a lasting impact for years to come. As these trees grow, they will provide shade, create habitats for local wildlife, improve biodiversity, and help make our school an even greener and more sustainable place to learn and play.

More importantly, the day showcased the leadership and teamwork of our students, as they supported each other to complete all the tasks. They demonstrated that caring for our environment is everyone's responsibility and that even small actions can make a significant difference when we work together. We are incredibly proud of the positive example our leaders set on the day.

A huge thank you to our parent helpers Katy, David, Ashlyn, Natalie and in particular Laura who had done a mountain of work prior to the day.  Laura had worked hard behind the scenes to be successful in obtaining the grant that provided all of the trees and shrubs that we planted on the day.

We look forward to watching our new trees flourish and bring some more greenery to our school grounds.
