Year Three/Four News 

Summary of Term 3 so far...

Hello families of all in Year 3/4. We are going to tell you all about 3/4 learning that we 

have been doing this whole term. Please read the following information below if you’re interested.      

READING:

In reading we have been learning about characters, text features, character descriptions, and traits. While the teachers have been reading NO WORDS! We have been focusing very hard on our work. After a few weeks we mastered text features and character descriptions and traits.

WRITING: 

In writing we are working on our writers festival piece and completing a poem. For the poem, we looked at rhythm, rhyming, and poetry. For the writers festival, we have been planning, and starting our draft. We hope you come to the writers festival and see our work in term 4.

MATHS:

In maths recently we have been learning about multiplication and division. We have learnt tons of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems. In Multiplication we have used the likes of arrays, repeated addition, equal groups,  area models, and more. Then in division we use arrays, equal groups, c repeated subtraction, halving, and more. We had a wonderful time during maths, working with our peers.        

HUMANITIES:

In  humanities we are learning about identity, culture, community, and rights. We’ve been coming together as group to discuss and share about these topics and we’ve also been doing activities like going to our tables and drawing our culture. 

CONCLUSION:

Thank you for listening to year 3/4 learning. We hope you are proud of your kids and we are also proud of ourselves. The teachers have been supportive of our learning level.
