Week 4 Update
Term 3 is progressing very smoothly, with students and teachers working hard to prepare for Learning Conferences. Conferences began this week and will continue over the next three weeks.
Our Learning Conference process is an extremely valuable part of our approach to learning at LNPS. It provides students with the opportunity to reflect on their progress, celebrate their achievements and identify areas for continued growth. It also supports students to take greater ownership of their learning and confidently discuss their goals and next steps.
Learning Conferences strengthen the important partnership between students, families and teachers. These conversations provide a shared understanding of each student’s progress and how we can continue working together to support their learning, wellbeing and development.
If you have booked a Learning Conference, it is very important that you attend. If you are unable to make your scheduled time, please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible to arrange an alternative.
Thank you to our teachers for the considerable preparation that goes into each conference, to our students for taking an active role in sharing their learning, and to our families for their ongoing involvement and support.
Last Wednesday, the Community Engagement Committee, in collaboration with parent volunteers and staff, held the 2026 LNPS Disco. It was a spectacular event that was enjoyed by everyone.

Minister for Education's Visit
Last week, LNPS was selected to host the Minister for Education, Lucy Hood, as part of the annual release of national NAPLAN data.
Each year, the department identifies a school achieving strong results, particularly when compared with schools supporting students from similar backgrounds. System Performance recommended LNPS as a positive case study based on our NAPLAN results and Wellbeing and Engagement Collection data.
The visit provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work happening across our school, our strong learning and wellbeing outcomes, and the positive culture we have built together over many years. While the data prompted the visit, the morning was really about the people behind those results—our students, staff and families.
The Minister observed our Year 1 Numeracy Check in action before visiting our Year 5 classes. A special thank you to Cheryl, Sophie and Freddie for supporting the numeracy demonstration at short notice, and to the students and staff in F14 and F15 for welcoming the Minister and media into their learning spaces.
Chaise and Hayden did an outstanding job speaking with the Minister and the media. They represented LNPS with confidence and were wonderful ambassadors for our school. All our students handled the excitement of the morning brilliantly, and we were extremely proud of them.
Our strong results reflect the collective commitment of our students, staff and families. They also demonstrate the importance of maintaining a holistic approach in which academic achievement, wellbeing and the development of the whole child are equally valued.
The Minister and her team were very impressed with LNPS, and the visit received coverage across the ABC, Channel 7 and Channel 9.
This was wonderful recognition of our school community and a fantastic opportunity to showcase LNPS!
