Start QUT Program

The Start QUT Program allows high-achieving Year 11 and 12 students to study university subjects while still at school. Successfully completed subjects may provide advanced standing (credit) towards a future degree.

 

Congratulations to Ruben Smythe (Year 12) on successfully completing Foundations of Biology through the program. This is a fantastic achievement, balancing university study alongside Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, General Mathematics, English, and Religion & Ethics.

 

Year 11 students: If you are interested in the program, read more about eligibility and key dates here and then see Ms Kenny in the Careers Office (near CLE) for assistance with your application.

UQ Young ChangeMakers Program

Applications are now open for the Young ChangeMakers Program (November/December 2026). Year 11 students with big ideas and ambitions are invited to apply for this 4-day leadership experience. Participants will: Spend 4 days (3 nights) at UQ's St Lucia campus, connect with like-minded students, develop leadership, communication and critical-thinking skills, experience university life through workshops, keynote speakers and activities. ACU Revision Webinars

ACU is hosting a series of Year 12 Subject Revision Webinars throughout August to support students preparing for final exams in the following subjects: SOR, Legal, Gen Maths, English and Biology. Find out more and register for sessions relevant to your subjects.

 

Bond Experience Days

Bond University is running a range of Experience Days for Year 10, 11 and 12 students. 13 August – Startup Lab - A hands-on business experience in entrepreneurship and innovation. 19 August – Ambition in Numbers Discover how actuarial thinking and data-driven analysis are used to solve real-world challenges. University Applications - QTAC

We will be supporting Year 12s through the university application process at school in upcoming weeks during Year 12 ASH. The process involves two important steps: 1. Submit a QTAC Application, 2. Register for the ATAR Portal to have your ATAR calculated. These application processes are open as of 4th August 2026. Students can start learning about this process and planning their university courses and preferences by reading the QTAC Guide: QTAC Guide - QTAC

 

Fee-Free TAFE

Fee-Free TAFE allows eligible students to complete selected certificates, diplomas and short courses with no tuition fees. Find out more here

Work Experience Update

A reminder that Year 10 students must return their work experience application form by Friday 7 August to Ms Stabik in the VET and Careers Office.
