Chess
The library has been a place of fierce competition and careful moves this week as the students take up the challenge to gain a place on the School Chess Team. The pawns have been sacrificed and the Queens kept busy moving the board. Stay tuned for the announcement of the team!
Lunch Activities
Our new board games have been popular with the students and, who knew, there was a little science and maths hiding in most of the games! Jenga (gravity, surface area, 3D space and force), Stack the Egg (balance and equilibrium), Marble Run (gravity, engineering, centripetal force), Match the face (body language and emotions along with the force on that bell timer!) and 3-D Tetris (objects, flip, slide and turn). The turn-taking has been great to see and fun to hear the giggles of resilience as things don't always go to plan!
Premier's Reading Challenge
Our school has signed up for the Premier's Reading Challenge. More information will come out to parents through Compass next week. This is another great initiative to encourage our students to keep reading!
2026 Writing Competition

As always, the library is open most lunch times and students can return and borrow books then.
Happy reading,
Deb McDouall
