At St John’s, ensuring our students are responsible and resilient digital citizens is a priority. This term, we will continue with a whole-school approach, and every class will participate in a targeted session tailored to their level. These concepts will also be woven into our STEM lessons, helping students understand the "how" and "why" behind staying safe online.
The best outcomes occur when we work together. To assist parents and carers, please refer to the Parent Tip Sheets below, which outline our specific focuses for the term. These include practical ideas and conversation starters to help you continue these important discussions at home.
Thank you to the majority of families who have digitally signed the MACS Acceptable Use of ICT Agreements on nForma for their child. I still have a few families who have not yet completed this task yet, I ask that this please be done as soon as possible.
Children's access to school devices and accounts requires this form to be completed. Soon I will be required to begin closing accounts of students who I have not yet received a completed form.
This agreement was shared via the nForma Parent App (Forms section) last term.
Next Steps:
If you have any questions or require assistance locating the form, please contact fcotela@sjheidelberg.catholic.edu.au.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe online.
Here are some recent LEGO creations from students eager to get their work into the newsletter. I will be meeting with eLearning Leaders from other schools this week to collaborate on best practices. As a result, the STEM room will be closed this Friday. But we will reconvene next Friday at 2nd break. As always, STEM Club is open to all students!
