May is the Month of Mary. For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honor Mary, Mother of God. Not just a day in May, but the entire month.
The month of May is a special time for Catholics to pay homage to our Blessed Mother Mary. We pay homage to her. Contrary to misconceptions, we do not worship her. As Catholics, we honor Mary. It is also that time of year when motherhood is celebrated through the annual event known as ‘Mother’s Day’.
Devotion to Mary is one an important part of the Catholic identity. As our mother she is an example of a committed “Yes” to the will of God.
What we can do today to honour Mary:
Thank you to all the families that came out to participate in a faith formation evening. The evening provided families with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the sacrament and its significance within the Catholic tradition.

The evening took place at the school, beginning and concluding with a shared time of prayer. The students then moved to their classrooms to continue with their learning journey with their teachers whilst the adults were introduced to our guest speaker Jacinta Bright.
Jacinta's presentation was insightful and meaningful and her words and ability to connect so powerfully to the true meaning and origins of the Eucharist were deeply moving. We thank her for sharing her wisdom and faith with our community.
