Easter: Jesus is Raised to New Life

This unit invites students to explore the heart of the Easter message through the discovery of the empty tomb and Jesus’ appearances to his friends. Students will learn that Easter is a living celebration of God’s love and hope, moving from the solemnity of Lent to the joy of the Resurrection symbolized by the liturgical colors of white and gold. By reflecting on Scripture and the role of the Apostles, children will be encouraged to recognize Jesus’ presence in the world today and consider how they can be Easter People through acts of kindness, peace, and love.

Jesus Grows in Wisdom

Students will explore Jesus' childhood, focusing on his Jewish heritage and the faithful home provided by Mary and Joseph. They will examine the Holy Family’s journey to Egypt and their life in Nazareth, as well as the significant event of a young Jesus learning and questioning teachers in the Temple. 

Additionally, students will come to learn about Jesus’ ancestral connection to King David, recognising Jesus as the fulfilment of God’s ancient promise to send a Messiah. Through these stories, students will be invited to reflect on how they can also grow in faith and trust God during life's challenges.
