Specialist Sport

It has been an outstanding start to the year for Specialist Sport at Ballarat High School, with several students achieving success across multiple sporting arenas.
A huge congratulations to the following students who have been selected into the U18 GWV Rebels Football Squads: Jackson O’Brien, Jessica Dawe, Abbey Burke, Isabelle Harrison, Ella Kerr & Laila West. Selection into this elite pathway program is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, resilience and consistent effort these students have demonstrated in both their training and match play. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and look forward to following their progress throughout the season.
We also acknowledge these basketball students: Lena Wiltsher & Isabelle Harrison (U18 Div 1 Champions), Cooper Johnston & Tyson Anstis (U16 Div 2 Runners Up) who recently competed in the Junior Country Championships Tournament. Representing their associations at this level is a fantastic accomplishment and provides invaluable experience competing against high-quality opposition from across regional Victoria.
Finally, a special mention to our Year 9 and 10 Specialist Sport students who assisted at the Pleasant Street Primary School Athletics Carnival on 16th February. Our students demonstrated leadership, responsibility and initiative while supporting event coordination and younger participants throughout the day. Their contribution was greatly appreciated and reflects the strong culture of service and leadership within our program.
Congratulations to all students involved — we are extremely proud of your efforts both on and off the field.
