Alumni Program

Every year as we induct our new Year 12s as leaders of the school, we invite alumni to share their Year 12 journey and advice. 

Dux of 2025 Nuaym Haque, pictured above, returned and encouraged students to be curious, stay consistent and “crush laziness,” reminding them that excellence is a habit, not an act. Don’t compare yourself. Ask for help. Take care of yourself and your friends. Make this year memorable.

We felt our Induction Ceremony was the perfect chance for our new Assistant Principal (Years 10, 11 and 12) and alumna Natalie Maher to share her own journey from Year 12 student to staff member, reflecting on how Ballarat High opened doors, broadened horizons and fostered lifelong friendships. She encouraged students to say yes to opportunities, make memories now - not later and to be clear about what they need from this year and how they will achieve it. With honesty she encouraged the students to grasp every opportunity and give their best, so there are no regrets.

We thank both Natalie and Nuaym for their insight into making the most of the Year 12 experience.
