2026 Japan Study Tour

Ballarat High School will run a Japan Study Tour from 9th - 29th September 2026.  This three-week program combines major city travel, regional exploration and an extended homestay with our sister school in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. Students will spend time in Tokyo, Hakodate, Lake Toya and Sapporo before undertaking a structured homestay experience that includes daily attendance at Meisei High School.

The tour is designed to build independence, cultural understanding and confidence. Students will learn to navigate major cities, engage with Japanese culture firsthand and experience daily life within a Japanese family.  Participation is strictly capped at 20 students. Priority will be given to students studying Japanese in 2026. If places remain available, they may be offered to other suitable applicants.  The tour runs late in Term 3 and into the school holidays. Students must be available for the full duration and prepared to manage any missed schoolwork responsibly.

Application forms have been distributed through Japanese classes. Expressions of interest close at the end of Week 8, Friday 20th March.
