Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features some poems written by Navya (Year 5), I trust you enjoy them just as much as I have:
Loss
A pang in my heart
A thorn deep inside
A piece of me, gone forever
A light gone off,
Done forever, never to come back, never
A piece of me dim as stone
All I ever wanted gone
A blanket of worries drowns me, leaving my face a mess of tears
It feels like a storm made from broken glass
A Shard storm, some may call it!
Every single shard pricks me, each holding a memory I wanted cherish and desired,
Now I want it gone, with all the memories we once shared,
That’s what I call Loss
The fire burning in my heart
The fire burning in my heart is cruel,
vicious, venomous too.
It destroys everything in its path and destroys
hope in its lair,
While we stare, unable to slay its unbreakable grasp.
The sadness and tears bay ahead,
causing chaos till the very end,
All hope is lost in the fiend.
We try our best to hold flames back, but we soon realise water won’t help
It is our success that truly matters,
never our despairs or other wonders.
Our world will prosper, evolve and transform,
If we can all smile.
Just once in a while.
