🌸 SPRING NEWS 🌼
From Nurse Jayde & Nurse Kristy 🩺💗
🌷 HELLO SPRING! ☀️ |
The flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer and hopefully we can finally say goodbye to some of those freezing winter mornings! Spring is beautiful, but it also brings hay fever, unpredictable weather, swooping magpies and plenty of playground adventures!
🌦️ FOUR SEASONS IN ONE SCHOOL DAY! Victorian spring weather loves to keep us guessing! 🧥 Bring a jumper or jacket. 💧 Bring a named water bottle. 👒 Remember your school hat. 🌧️ Be ready for surprise rainy days. ☀️ Remember sun protection outdoors. 😂 Nurse Jayde's tip: Don't decide it's summer just because the sun came out for 10 minutes! | 🤧 ACHOO! HAY FEVER SEASON Spring pollen can mean itchy eyes, runny noses, sneezing and headaches. Please organise your child's usual allergy management at home. If medication is required at school, contact the Health Centre so the correct medication authority documentation can be arranged. 😂 Sneezing 14 times in a row might be impressive, but please sneeze into your elbow! |
💧 WATER, WATER, WATER! As the days become warmer, students need to keep hydrated. 💦 Bring a named water bottle every day. 💦 Drink regularly. 💦 Refill when needed. 💦 Drink extra after sport. 😜 Headache + hot day + no water bottle = three things Nurse Jayde & Nurse Kristy would rather not see together! |
🐝 BITES, STINGS & SPRING CREATURES Spring brings bees, insects and other little visitors. Avoid touching insects and tell a staff member if you are bitten or stung. Families of students with anaphylaxis or significant allergies should ensure current Action Plans and required medication are at school. | 🐦 LOOK OUT... MAGPIE SEASON! Stay calm and keep moving. 🚶 Walk - don't run. 🙅 Don't wave or throw things at the bird. 👫 Tell staff about any swooping areas. 😂 The magpie isn't personally offended by you... although sometimes it certainly feels that way! |
🦠 WINTER BUGS HAVEN'T COMPLETELY LEFT! Coughs, colds and gastro bugs don't magically disappear on the first day of spring. 🧼 Wash hands regularly. 🤧 Cough and sneeze into your elbow. 🗑️ Bin used tissues. 🚫 Don't share drink bottles. 🏠 If your child is genuinely unwell, please keep them home until they are well enough to participate comfortably at school. These simple steps help protect our students, staff and families. |
