Anglican Identity 

During RAVE this week, Year 1/2 W  learnt about baptism, a special celebration in the Christian faith. During baptism, water is gently poured on a person's head or they are immersed in water. Water reminds us that God loves us, cares for us, and welcomes us into God's family.

Using the doll, the class had some fun role-playing the steps often seen in a baptism celebration:

1. Bathing the Doll – We gently wash the doll with water. This reminds us of the baptismal water, a sign of new life, love, and God's care.
2. Anointing with Oil – We place a small amount of pretend or suitable oil on the doll. In baptism, oil is sometimes used as a sign of God's blessing and the Holy Spirit being with us.
3. Dressing the Doll – We dress the doll in clean or white clothing. This reminds us that baptism is a joyful new beginning and that we are part of God's family.

As we care for the doll, we remember that every person is precious, loved by God, and welcomed into a caring community.
