Senior School Update 

It has been wonderful to welcome our Senior School students back for the start of Term 3. Students have settled quickly into their routines and have made a positive start to what is an important and busy term.

A significant highlight of the first fortnight was the Year 10 Course Counselling process which took place on the first Wednesday back at school. This provided students and families with an opportunity to discuss subject selections and begin shaping individual pathways into Years 11 and 12. These conversations are an important milestone in each student's educational journey, helping them align their interests, strengths and future aspirations with their senior studies. We encourage Year 10 students to continue reflecting on their options and seeking advice from teachers, careers staff and family members as they make decisions about their future pathways.

This Friday, students in Years 10, 11 and 12 engaged with the Control Your Scroll presentation, which explored the impact of social media, digital habits and online wellbeing. The presentation encouraged students to think critically about their online activity, the influence of algorithms and the importance of maintaining healthy digital balance. 

These are increasingly important conversations for young people, and we encourage families to continue discussing responsible and mindful technology use at home. For Year 12 in particular, the session had a strong focus on how to maximise performance in what is close to the final 100 days of schooling.

A highlight of next week will be our Senior School Assembly, where we look forward to a recap of Lucy and Callum’s service learning trip in Samoa, as well as presenting some awards across various areas of achievement in the Senior School.

Trio Recognised at Literary Awards 

Congratulations to three of our talented Senior School students for being recognised as finalists in the Youth Category of the Furphy Literary Awards! The Furphy Literary Awards celebrate the art of storytelling and encourage writers of all ages to share their creativity and imagination. 

They had the pleasure of attending an awards ceremony in Shepparton, and we are thrilled to celebrate their achievements:

• Coen Pang (Year 8 ) – Highly Commended (Poetry)

   

• Cedric Pang (Year 11) – Commended (Poetry) and Highly Commended (Poetry)

   

• Charli Blackie (Year 9) – Commended (Short Story)
