Parking Safely Around Our School

We have recently been contacted by City of Salisbury regarding ongoing concerns about parking around local schools, including our own community. These concerns relate to illegal parking and general non-compliance with road rules, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

While we understand that these times can be hectic, unsafe or illegal parking creates real risks for our students, families, and the wider community. It can obstruct visibility, limit safe access for pedestrians, and impact local residents.

Council regularly conducts patrols in school zones, and vehicles parked illegally may receive fines. However, our shared goal is not enforcement, but prevention, ensuring everyone in our community is acting safely and responsibly.

We ask all parents and caregivers to take a moment to reflect on their parking habits and support a safer environment for everyone. Simple actions—such as observing signage, avoiding no-stopping zones, using our revamped Kiss & Drop zones and allowing extra time for drop-off and pick-up make a significant difference.

For more information and helpful reminders, please refer to the City of Salisbury resource on parking safely around schools.
