Year 9 Geography Goes Wild at the Zoo!

In Weeks 8 and 9, our Year 9 Geography students swapped the classroom for the great outdoors with an exciting fieldwork excursion to Adelaide Zoo, as part of their Biomes unit.

Armed with clipboards and curiosity, students worked in teams to explore a range of biomes from around the world, including deserts, rainforests, savannahs and temperate forests,  all without leaving Adelaide! As they moved through the Zoo, students observed animals in their habitats, collected data, and experienced first-hand how geographers investigate the natural world.

The visit also gave students the chance to try out different fieldwork data collection techniques, bringing their learning to life in an engaging and memorable way.

Back in the classroom, the adventure continues as students analyse and compare their findings, drawing conclusions about the biome displays and reflecting on which data collection methods were most effective.

A fantastic learning experience that combined geography, teamwork and a little bit of wild fun!

Year 10 Sports Coaching

This term, our Year 10 students stepped into the role of sports coaches, developing their skills in leadership, communication, and planning. Throughout the term, they practised coaching their peers during lessons, refining their ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

As part of this experience, students designed and delivered their own lesson plans based on a chosen sport or activity. The highlight of the unit saw each class visit one of our Connected Primary Schools, where they led engaging sessions for younger students.

This authentic, hands-on opportunity allowed our Year 10s to build confidence and gain valuable insight into real-world coaching. They embraced the challenge and thoroughly enjoyed working with their younger peers.

We extend our sincere thanks to Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School, Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista, and St Paul Lutheran School Blair Athol for generously hosting our students. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved!

SACSA Volleyball Success

Endeavour College proudly showcased its sporting talent at the SACSA Volleyball Carnivals, with teams competing across multiple year levels and returning with an impressive set of results.

On Day 1, our Year 7/8 teams took to the court. The boys delivered an outstanding performance, finishing the group stage undefeated before winning two consecutive matches to advance to the grand final.

They capped off a dominant day with a 14-point victory to secure the gold medal.

The Year 7/8 girls also enjoyed a strong campaign, progressing through the group stage undefeated and continuing their success in the championship rounds. After winning two more matches, they earned a place in the grand final. Despite a determined effort, the girls narrowly went down by seven points, finishing with a well-deserved silver medal.

Day 2 saw our Year 9/10 teams compete with equal determination.

The boys were dominant throughout, remaining undefeated in the group stage and advancing confidently through the championship rounds to reach the grand final. They secured gold with a convincing seven point win.

The Year 9/10 girls also performed exceptionally well, finishing the group stage undefeated and progressing to the championship rounds. After winning one of their next two matches, they narrowly missed a place in the grand final. They went on to compete for bronze, securing third place in a thrilling match decided by just three points.

These outstanding results saw Endeavour College as the most successful school at the SACSA Volleyball Carnival.

We are incredibly proud of our volleyballers for their hard work and dedication throughout the term, and we thank all staff and student coaches for their valuable support.
