From the Assistant Principal: Faith & Identity

Christmas Liturgy
Our Christmas Liturgy today was something very special!
The Shepherds arrived, as did our Wise People, an iridescent Angel Gabriel and of course Mary and Joseph with their newborn baby. There was also a horse and a baby lamb just to add to our Nativity. We were joined in prayer by our musicians and singers. It was joyful, it was holy and it asked us many questions about who we are as members of the Loreto community and what we need to remember at Christmas as we look past the gifts and the food and the fun.
Assist a Sister
Assist a Sister is a Loreto Ballarat fund where we raise money to assist Loreto people in a variety of ways, when the need is there we are able to assist.
Our Senate 2026 created a week of Christmas joy with Candygrams being sold, a Touch of Christmas Casual Day with a gold coin donation. Most importantly there were Santa pictures to be taken with our resident Santa.
The students entered joyfully into the events of the week.
A special thank you to our Senate 2026 who are showing more and more what a joy filled, inclusive leadership looks like. We look forward to many more activities in 2026.
St Vinnies Hampers
This year we again worked closely with St Vincent’s De Paul to create Christmas Hampers for our community. Each year Frank Stuart from St Vincent De Paul comes to speak to our community about our impact on those in need. We are humbled to be working with Vinnies and we look forward to continuing to work closely with them into the future.
Through donations from our students and staff this year, we have supported 36 families, 112 children and 50 adults.
We would like to thank these wonderful sponsors for their generosity:
- Creative Play Art Centre (CPAC): Vouchers
- Showbiz Cinemas - 112 tickets (1 for every child)
- Ballarat Gym Sports - 40 family passes
- The Pancake Kitchen - $10 vouchers x 36
- Lazer Force - 3 double passes per group
