Ballarat Agricultural SprinShow

The Ballarat Agricultural Spring Show held in early November was brimming with creativity this year, and Loreto College’s Year 10 Future Skills class proudly added their mark to the arts and crafts section. With determination, imagination, and a touch of friendly competitiveness, the students chose their own categories and presented entries to be judged.

Their efforts were rewarded with outstanding results:

  • Gingerbread House – 1st Prize
  • Deconstructed Gingerbread House – 2nd Prize
  • Decorated Rock – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prize !!
  • Uncooked Lemon Slice – 1st Prize
  • Uncooked Malteser Slice – 2nd Prize

Each entry reflected not only skill but also the pride of representing Loreto College. The students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, showcasing their talents while celebrating the opportunity provided through Future Skills 2025.

The experience was more than just about winning prizes - it was about teamwork, creativity, and the joy of contributing to a community event. The students thoroughly enjoyed the task, and their achievements highlight the innovative spirit that Future Skills aims to encourage.

Congratulations to our Year 10 Future Skills class for their remarkable success and for representing Loreto College with such pride and talent!

Bookmarks for Nazareth House

This term, our Year 10 Future Skills class has been busy combining imagination with compassion in a project that truly embodies the spirit of our school community. Our students for their last project have designed and crafted beautiful, handmade bookmarks to gift to the aged residents of Nazareth House.

The project encouraged students to explore their creativity while also reflecting on the importance of kindness and giving back. Each bookmark was carefully decorated with vibrant colors, some with thoughtful messages, and unique designs, making them not only practical but also heartfelt tokens of care.

The bookmarks will be delivered to Nazareth House later in the term. For many, these small yet meaningful gifts will brighten their daily reading and serve as a reminder that they are valued and remembered by the younger generation.

This initiative highlights the Future Skills class’s commitment to developing not just practical abilities, but also empathy and community spirit. It’s a wonderful example of how creativity can be used to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations to our Year 10 students of 2025 for their generosity and thoughtfulness. Their bookmarks are more than just art, they are symbols of connection across generations.
