The Little Mermaid

“The human world - it’s a mess! Life under the sea is better than anything they got up there!” - Sebastian

Eight months ago, our DCC secondary school cast of 80 students embarked on a journey ‘under the sea’ and a couple of weeks ago we all got to be a ‘part of that world’. 

The colour, the music and the sets all came together to create a world that jumped from land to sea and back again! The characters that inhabited these spaces were stunning to watch and listen to and helped transport our audience back to the world of the much-loved Disney movie. It was a pleasure to help you relive these memories!  

A school musical is a special experience, and one that demands a lot of our students. The vulnerability these students showed in stepping up time after time at rehearsals and then again for a string of shows at a new theatre was amazing. 

Thank you to our cast and crew for all you did to seize every opportunity, sow into a thriving school production culture, take notes and feedback on board, continually adjust and improve, as well as gather around each other to create and strengthen existing friendships. It was truly wonderful to work with you and witness God’s creativity in everything that was shared.   

So, hats (and tails!) off to the cast, crew, production, and staff team for such a colourful, creative, and engaging retelling of one of Disney’s favourite stories!
