Year 3/4

PDHPE – Building Positive Relationships
In PDHPE this term, students are learning about how to build and maintain positive relationships with others. As part of our Health lessons this week, we are exploring what it means to be a good friend and how strong friendships help create a happy and supportive classroom.Students have been discussing the qualities of a good friend, such as being kind, listening to others, including everyone and showing respect. We are also learning strategies for making new friends and maintaining friendships, including how to start conversations, work cooperatively with others and show empathy.
Another important focus has been conflict resolution. Students are learning practical strategies to manage disagreements in a respectful way. This includes using calm words, listening to different perspectives, finding fair solutions and asking for help from a trusted adult when needed.
Through discussions, role-plays and group activities, students are developing the skills needed to build healthy relationships, solve problems peacefully and contribute positively to our classroom/school community. These skills support not only their learning at school but also their wellbeing and relationships beyond the classroom.
