Beginning the Season of Lent

This week we marked the beginning of Lent, a special time in the Church year where we are invited to slow down, reflect and think about how we can grow to be more like Jesus. Across the school, students are exploring how prayer, kindness, gratitude, and making positive choices can help us strengthen our relationships with God and with one another. Lent is not just about giving something up, but about taking action, looking for ways to show compassion, include others and live with generous hearts.

Shrove Tuesday – A Joyful Start

Our students shared in the tradition of Shrove Tuesday by enjoying pancakes together as a school. This day reminds us to prepare for Lent and to celebrate as a community before this reflective season begins. A huge thank you to the wonderful parents who generously gave their time to cook pancakes for our students. Your support created such a warm, joyful atmosphere and helped make the morning a special memory for all.

Ash Wednesday – Gathering in Faith

We came together for a beautiful Ash Wednesday Mass, marking the beginning of our Lenten journey. Receiving the ashes was a powerful reminder that Lent is a time for fresh starts, thoughtful choices, and turning our hearts back to God. It was a reverent and prayerful celebration and it was lovely to gather as a whole school community in faith.

Year Three – Preparing for Reconciliation

Our Year Three students have begun their preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which they will celebrate on Thursday 5th March. In their learning, they have been exploring the idea of “missing the mark” and understanding that everyone makes mistakes, but we are always welcomed back with love when we have a change of heart. We keep our Year Three students in our prayers as they continue this important step in their faith journey and grow in their understanding of forgiveness, healing and God’s unconditional love.
