Senior Learning Community

Welcome back to everyone for 2026!

We are super excited to get to know all of the Year 5 and 6 students in the Senior Learning Community this year. We have had a busy start to the term already with swimming and lots of learning. 

We just have a few reminders as we being the year. 

Please ensure your child brings their Library Bags to school each week and encourage them to borrow and read books at home. 

We strongly encourage students to choose a good fit book and read each night to support their learning.

In Year 5, students are studying the novel 'War Horse' by Michael Morpurgo. It is a story of a horse named Joey and his special friendship with a boy named Albert. The major themes are courage, loyalty, kindness and the impact of war on people and animals. 

In Year 6, students are studying the novel 'A Ghost in a Suitcase' by Gabrielle Wang. It is a story about finding yourself and explores the themes of culture, family and loss.
