Middle Learning Community

We have had a wonderful start to the year in the MLC and are already making great progress across all learning areas! 

Literacy Students have been very excited to begin their new class novels and are thoroughly enjoying them. Year 3 students are reading Matilda by Roald Dahl. Year 4 students have started Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. We are also looking forward to starting our new spelling program, SpellEx, in the coming weeks. 

Mathematics In Mathematics, Year 3 students have started their unit on Counting and Place Value, and Year 4 students have begun their unit on Addition and Subtraction. 

Inquiry  

This term, our MLC inquiry topic is Australian History, where they will be learning about significant days celebrated and commemorated in Australia, First Fleet, First Peoples of Australia and explorers.   

Sport Days Students in the MLC participate in sport twice a week: 

• Year 3: Monday (with MLC teachers) and Friday (with Miss Ryan) 
• Year 4: Monday (with MLC teachers) and Thursday (with Miss Ryan) 

Students are asked to wear their sports uniform on these days. 

Swimming MLC students have thoroughly enjoyed swimming and have shown great improvement in their strokes and water safety skills. They are feeling excited about our swimming carnival next Wednesday, 11th February.
