Student Spotlight - Hannah Fior

Hannah Fior is a remarkable young athlete who continues to shine across multiple sports, with standout achievements particularly in baseball.
Over the past year alone, Hannah has built an outstanding resume of national-level performances. She recently represented Queensland at the Timber Jacks Baseball Tournament in NSW (July 2025), where she took home both the MVP Award (Coaches' Choice) and Players' Player Award.
Earlier this year, she played in the Melbourne Women's Baseball Tournament (January 2025), where her team triumphed in the grand final. While there, she had the special honour of meeting a US baseball legend who starred in the iconic film A League of Their Own.
In December 2024, Hannah competed in the Queensland Youth Women’s State Titles, earning the Spirit of the Game Award, which led to her selection for the Gold Coast Classic in January 2025. She also represented Western Australia at the 2024 Barclay Cup in Sydney, and competed in the National Little League Baseball Championships (June 2024) and the National Junior League Baseball Championships (July 2025), where she was awarded Player of the Day and gifted a pair of Carve sunglasses.
Locally, Hannah was named the Overall Junior (U16) MVP for both girls and boys in the Alice Springs Baseball Association for the 2024/25 season, as well as MVP for her team.
Her sporting talents go beyond baseball—Hannah has also represented the Northern Territory School Sports team at the National Championships in both cricket and soccer for the past two years, proving her versatility and dedication across multiple disciplines.
Hannah's sporting journey has also taken her to the United States, where she trained at a prestigious Baseball Academy under former Alice Springs local Adrian Burnside, who represented both Australia and the US in baseball. In a touching gesture, Adrian presented Hannah with one of his championship rings, recognising her talent and potential.
Hannah’s dream is to represent Australia in baseball and potentially extended the dream to play in the US Women’s Professional Baseball League in the future.
Hannah’s achievements, leadership, and passion for sport are an inspiration to the school community. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she accomplishes next!
