Wellbeing Matters

Welcome back everyone,
The first two weeks of school have flown by, and our school routines are now well and truly underway.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to our new families and to remind our returning families about the role of the Student Support Officer (SSO) and how I can support you and your child.
As a non-teaching member of the school’s wellbeing team, I work collaboratively with staff, students and families to enhance student wellbeing and engagement. In my role, I:
- Promote student wellbeing, resilience and positive social behaviours by working in partnership with the wellbeing team and school counselling service to deliver individual, small-group and whole-school evidence-based programs and strategies.
- Assist in identifying and establishing support networks for students, connecting them with school staff, the broader school community, and relevant local government and community services.
- Support students during key transition periods, including transitions between schools and into post-school pathways, in collaboration with transition coordinators and external providers.
Work closely with external agencies to develop referral pathways and link students and families with appropriate youth and family support services.
I look forward to working with you throughout the year to support the wellbeing and success of all students. Please feel free to contact me on 63853009 if you would like to discuss how I can assist your child or your family.
