Coffee Making Incursions

Students recently participated in two fantastic coffee making incursions, where they completed a variety of practical and theory based activities on a rotational basis. Throughout the sessions, students practised coffee extraction and milk texturing using a commercial coffee machine. They also developed their food preparation skills by making milkshakes, truffles, chicken focaccias and waffles. These practical experiences were complemented by a range of theory activities that reinforced the knowledge and techniques introduced during the workshops.

A highlight of one of the sessions was when Mr Wake happened to be passing by and kindly demonstrated his impressive latte art skills. The students thoroughly enjoyed watching his demonstration and gained a valuable insight into the creativity and precision involved in producing high quality coffee.

We were delighted with the enthusiasm, confidence and willingness to learn that was demonstrated by all students. We look forward to seeing them continue to build their skills and confidence as they prepare for the opening of our café.
