Hello from 5T

So far in Term 2…
5T have had a very busy start to the term, with lots happening both in and outside the classroom.
We have begun our class novel War Horse, and students have been highly engaged with its key themes, including the power of friendship, the sadness and danger of war, and the importance of kindness and courage. To complement this, students are developing their narrative writing skills by exploring different perspectives and using more mature vocabulary and structure. In Mathematics, we have been developing strategies to solve more complex written multiplication and division problems. We also continue our daily retrieval sessions, reinforcing concepts across all areas of numeracy.
Outside the classroom, we began Term 2 with our Cross Country Day, where students demonstrated an outstanding attitude throughout the event. I was particularly impressed by the perseverance and resilience on display. We have also launched our food science program, with students already creating some fantastic dishes, including smoothies and truffles. On Friday, May 8, we participated in the Dolly’s Dream incursion. The workshop provided valuable opportunities for students to explore respectful relationships, kindness, resilience, and self-worth in a meaningful and engaging way.
All students have demonstrated an excellent approach to their learning and are adhering to classroom expectations. I look forward to see what the rest of the term brings.
