Walk to School Day
It’s that time of year again where we encourage our students and families to get active and walk to school together. On Friday 22nd May, L.P.S staff will be meeting at the Langwarrin
Pearcedale Anglican Church on the corner of Warrandyte Road and North Road at 8:20am and 8:30am, and we’d love for you to join us as we walk to school as a group. This special day is part of National Walk Safely to School Day, an annual event across Australia that promotes healthy habits, road safety, and reducing traffic congestion around our schools. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, get moving, and start the day in a positive way.
We hope to see lots of smiling faces walking along with us! 🚶♀️🚶♂️You are welcome to come along or drop off your child to walk with L.P.S staff.
National Simultaneous Storytime
We are excited to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 27th May!
This year, students across Australia will be listening to the heartwarming story Luna Roo by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd. To make this event even more special, we warmly invite parents and carers to join us for an open morning from 9:00am – 10:00am.
During this time, you will have the opportunity to share the story with your child/ren and take part in a range of fun, engaging activities inspired by the book. It’s a wonderful chance to experience the joy of reading together and see learning in action in the classroom. Parents can go to the classroom/s of their children to experience the book coming to life.
We hope you can join us for this special celebration of storytelling and community.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Family Holiday Reminder
The Department of Education expects that students do not have time away during the school term as absence directly impacts their learning. We do understand that on unexpected occasions, family circumstances do require travel during the term. We understand that spending time with family is important, however we ask that you try to schedule this in the school holidays to ensure your child’s learning and development is not impacted.
If you do have to take leave during the school term for a family holiday, we request that you:
1) Email the school to seek permission from the school principal to attend the holiday and have the absence recorded as an ‘Extended Family Holiday - School Approved’.
2) Discuss with the class teacher if a student absence learning plan is required
Please note: Family Holiday Leave during the school term is a counted absence and will be recorded on the student's enrolment record and semester reports.
