Sun Hats & Sunscreen

All students and staff are required to wear hats that protect their face, neck and ears, i.e. legionnaire, broad brimmed or bucket hats, whenever they are outside between August and until the end of April. Baseball or peak caps and visors are not considered a suitable alternative.

Students must provide their own SPF 30 or higher broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen, if they wish to use protection whilst at school. Teachers will consistently remind students to put on sunscreen, but it will be up to the child to apply the sunscreen. Across the term, each year level will engage in compulsory lessons on UV exposure, skin cancer prevention, and vitamin D.
