JSC- Junior School Council
Our school has an enthusiastic Junior School Council made up of elected representatives from Grade 1 – Grade 6. These elections take place in early Term 1 through a consistent school process. The JSC meet regularly to discuss issues of importance to the students of our school.
The responsibilities of the Junior School Council include:
- Planning and organising fundraising events to support school and community based charities
- Representing APS at special ceremonies and events ( eg Anzac and Remembrance Day)
- Leading the student voice for lunchtime clubs
- Consulting with students in own classrooms and reporting school based concerns to the JSC coordinators
- Reporting back to their grades after a meeting has taken place
- Making recommendations on aspects of school life and charity events our school can support
- Present updates and issues raised within meetings at whole school assemblies
