Year 10 Students Graduate from Geelong Manufacturing Council’s program.

Congratulation is extended to Flic Thompson and Ben Abyat who were participants in the Girls Leading Advanced Manufacturing and Geelong Future Leaders of Industry programs respectively.

Their graduation was a powerful celebration of youth leadership and innovation. The students took full ownership of the event — from hosting to moderating a panel of industry leaders with confidence and professionalism. Their energy and passion were infectious, and they left a lasting impression on all 118 guests in attendance.

One of the standout moments was hearing students reflect on their journeys. They spoke about the eye-opening experiences during their industry tours and how their views on manufacturing have evolved. Many discovered that the sector offers not only diverse career paths but also exciting opportunities to make a real impact.

This year a special award that Deakin University sponsored a special award to 3 students for showing leadership skills, commitment and growth. Flic Thompson was a proud recipient of this award and received $500. Well done!
