WRITE A BOOK IN A DAY

Last week, two teams from the Oberon Writers’ Group succeeded in creating a book in a day to raise money for the Kids’ Cancer Project! At the start of the day, the teams were sent the parameters for their stories which needed to include the following: a face painter, a crab, a snake, the Great Barrier Reef and a bushfire. The groups then planned the events of their story together and split up to write their chapters. After an afternoon of editing, creative negotiations and motivational chocolate, the groups were able to submit their finished stories before the deadline.

Our Year 7 and 8 team was coached by Ms Knight and included: Luka Grant, April Challis, Ashlee Collins, Erin Leslie, Rosy Gray, Abby Hetherington, Maisy Hosking, Mia McKenna, Callum Millar and Ada Wilson. Their final story was called, ‘The Great Almighty Crab Cast’
