SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

THE OUTPOST DONATION DRIVE - September 2025

Helping Those in Need Right Here in Geelong

Oberon High School students are proud to support The Outpost, a local food relief centre in Geelong that provides meals and essential support to people experiencing homelessness and families doing it tough.

Founded after a tragic event, The Outpost now serves hundreds of nutritious meals every week, thanks to the efforts of around 180 volunteers. Their mission is to help people in our community regain dignity and stability.

How We’re Getting Involved

Our VCE VM students —Nate, Isaiah, Flynn, and Hayden— are leading a community action project to raise awareness about The Outpost and collect much-needed items.

We are collecting donations of:

  • Razors
  • Aerosol deodorant
  • New underwear
  • Socks
  • Good quality second-hand or new clothes

These items will help The Outpost continue to support people who rely on their services every day.

How You Can Help

We encourage all students, families, and staff to get involved by donating any of the items listed above. We are reaching out to local businesses in the Geelong community to join us in supporting this important cause.

  • Donation boxes will be placed in key areas around the school soon.
  • Donations can also be dropped off at the school office, where a collection box will be available.
