Defence

Dear Defence families and carers,

Our Defence students have really hit the ground running in 2025! We have welcomed some wonderful new Defence students to the school, who have wholeheartedly embraced their learning, engaged with Defence activities and made new friends. I’m so proud of our existing Defence students who have helped them to become valued members of our cohort.

Our weekly Defence Group is now being held on second break on Thursdays. The Wellbeing hub is back in action following some damage from the January storms, and we have been making good use of the space to get together each week. So far this year we have enjoyed ice blocks together on hot days, got competitive to win prizes in a Defence-themed Trivia Quiz, and expanded our social circles by ‘bringing a friend’ to Defence Group.

We are looking forward to the school’s ANZAC Day Service which will be held on Thursday 10th April. Several of our Defence students have volunteered to be involved. Parents and carers of Defence students will receive an invitation, so please save the date!

If you are a Defence family and your child is not currently part of the Defence School Mentor Program, please notify myself or the school, so they can be included.
