Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,
As we quickly move through term 1, I look forward to what the year will bring. The beginning of a new school year is full of promise, potential, and the dedication required to cultivate excellence.
At Francis Greenway High School we are committed to fostering a rich learning environment where every student is nurtured to thrive. This year, our focus remains on Explicit Teaching strategies and working with High Potential and Gifted students Whether it’s through academic achievement, personal development, or extracurricular engagement, we are excited to support our students in reaching new heights.
A Warm Welcome to New Faces
We are delighted to welcome new students, families, and staff members to our school community. Transitioning to a new environment can be both exciting and challenging, and we encourage everyone to embrace this journey with an open heart and a growth mindset.

Partnerships for Success
Education is a shared responsibility, and the partnership between home and school is crucial in shaping students’ success. I encourage parents and caregivers to stay engaged, attend school events, and maintain open communication with teachers. Together, we can ensure that each child flourishes.
Looking Ahead
As we embark on 2025, let’s embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with enthusiasm. Let’s cultivate a year of learning, resilience, and shared achievements—one where our students develop complexity, strength, and character over time.
We were very saddened by the passing of an ex-student and his brother in year 12 sustaining serious injuries in a devastating road accident. The school community has come together to support each other through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the boys’ family.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our school community. I look forward to an inspiring and productive year ahead.
