State Athletics Finals
I would like to congratulate Lewie L on making the State finals in the 1500m for the 12 year old boys. Lewie placed 4th overall which is an outstanding effort on the day.
I would also like to congratulate Juan D who competed in the 800m for the 11 year old boys and finished in 5th place.
For two students from our school to make such an elite level of competition is inspirational. Well done boys and we wish you the all the best in your future endeavours.
Softball Eastern Metropolitan Region Finals
I would like to congratulate the Auburn South Girls Softball Team on competing at the Eastern Metropolitan and Regionals Finals on Monday 10 November.
The Auburn South Team included Grace T, Khalissa K, Bella J O’B, Daisy G, Scout R, Millie C, Lucy C, Juliet B, Elle D, Isabella W and Sienna H.
The Auburn South team played Simon the Apostle Primary in the first game and won convincingly 18 to 9.
In the second game Auburn South played Mount Waverly and won 19 – 11.
In the third group game Auburn South played Rangeview Primary in what was a top of the table clash. The game ended up a draw at 13 all. The girls were able to qualify for the Semi Finals.
In the Semi Final Auburn South played Templestowe Park and won a tight game 19 – 12. This win sent Auburn South through to the final.
In the final Auburn South played Rangeview Primary again as both were the clear top teams on the day. A wonderful pitching effort by Bella, Juliet and Grace wasn’t enough to hold off the batting of Rangeview Primary as they won the final 20 – 15 in a great contest.
Congratulations to the whole girls team on your efforts of finishing runners up at Regionals.
