Respect and Connect: Youth Leadership Forum Session 2

On Monday 10th of November 2025, the respectful relationships team from year 5 had their second Respect and Connect: Youth Leadership Forum day at Roberts McCubbins Primary School. The students representing ASPS did lots of planning to make a positive change to our school.

They thought about how the synthetic, oval and COLA are dominated by sports like soccer, AFL and basketball. They decided they wanted to take action about that. Their decision was that  they change half the COLA to a netball ring since our school is lucky enough to have basketball hoops that turn around  to be netball rings.

They also had a dance session with a dancer called Dean. They had a terrific time learning a dance with him.

On that day the respectful relationships team learnt how important it is to be fair and respectful to others by sharing their play areas and resources.

In the last session which is on the 3rd of December, they are going to be presenting what  change they made at ASPS.
