Canteen 

Casual Canteen Position

We are looking for a dynamic, community minded addition to our fabulous ASPS canteen team.

The successful applicant will be a flexible individual that is reliable and looking to make an ongoing contribution to our wonderful school community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the daily operation of the canteen
  • Processing daily orders through Flexischools
  • Food preparation and baking
  • Recording of food temperatures and equipment 
  • Cash handling and reconciliation at the completion of the shift 
  • Restocking inventory
  • Accepting deliveries and putting stock away 
  • Cleaning tasks include dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, keeping kitchen clean and tidy
  • Managing volunteers during the shift as applicable

Shift hours will be between 8am and 1.30pm Monday to Friday as required. Ideally the successful applicant will be available for onboarding and training before the end of Term 4 2025. 

Due to the nature of the role, flexibility at short notice will be preferred. 

Food handling accreditation and experience will be highly regarded. 

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a valid Employee Working with Children’s accreditation.

Volunteering at canteen  

Our canteen just can't operate without our wonderful volunteers.

Please find below the volunteer roster for Term 3.

We look forward to seeing some new and familiar faces!

We encourage everyone to pop in and contribute – even if you can only commit to one shift per year! 

 

Volunteer shifts are in 1.5 hour blocks, 9-10.30, 10.30-12 and 12-1.30 

 

Our busiest days are Thursday and Fridays.

Recess commences at 10.50am and Lunch play is at 12.50pm

 

All volunteers at Auburn South Primary School require a valid working with children check and to have read, signed & returned the School Volunteering Handbook to the office.
