Class 5 News

BRITTANY DIAZ

Hello Families,

As we have been going through our Decimals Main Lesson and exploring the concept of zero, I’ve been reflecting on the quiet power of “nothing” as a placeholder. In our busy lives, we often fill our days with activities, chores, and responsibilities, so when a cancellation unexpectedly opens up time, it can feel like a rare gift. These unplanned moments - when nothing is scheduled - can often be when the most meaningful family memories are made.

Continuing my plant-inspired reflections from this year, we’ve been propagating plants in class with great success - perhaps because, at school, we mostly leave them alone, simply changing the water now and then. It’s been a gentle reminder to me that sometimes growth happens best when we step back and allow space for it.

In a world where everything feels immediate and information is always at our fingertips, doing “nothing” can be a challenge. Yet it is often in these pauses that something beautiful has the chance to grow.

As we head into the school holidays, may your days be sprinkled with these open spaces - the simple blessing of free time.

Warmly,

Brittany
