CAITLIN CONOVER & RUBY BARBER

Dear Playgroup Families,

As we come to the close of our first term together, the air has cooled and autumn begins to arrive. We notice a gentle shift around us. In many traditions, this season invites a turning inward, yet here in the desert it can feel like a lifting - the easing of the heat and a renewed readiness to be outside and to move more freely.

At this age, children are deeply nourished by repetition and predictability. Over the term, we have seen how they settle into the rhythm of our mornings - knowing what comes next and joining with growing confidence. After packing away from bread making, it has been especially lovely to see how patiently the children now wait to “wake up” the toys before moving into free play. For this reason, rather than holding a larger festival, we keep our final gathering simple and true to our daily rhythm. This week, our small celebrations included making hot cross buns in place of our usual bread and discovering a few Easter eggs hidden amongst the toys. We also shared the gentle story of Little Bilby, who learns through perseverance and care how to deliver his Easter eggs. These simple moments often stay most deeply with the children. This term has also brought some movement and transition within our playgroup community.

We have said goodbye to our Thursday session due to low registrations, and we thank the families who adjusted their days to continue with us. Our remaining four playgroup days are now full and well attended, with just a few places available.

We also send our warmest wishes to Linnea, who has begun her maternity leave. She has brought such care and steadiness to playgroup and will be greatly missed. We hold her and her growing family in our thoughts and look forward to welcoming her back in time.

Playgroup will resume in Term 2 on Tuesday, April 14.

We wish you all a peaceful and restful Easter time.

Blessings, Caitlin and Ruby
