Music Program Success

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble travelled to Geelong to participate in the Victorian School Music Festival. The ensemble performed exceptionally well, and their hard work, dedication and commitment were rewarded with a Silver Award, an outstanding achievement that reflects the ensemble's dedication and musical excellence.

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble also competed in the Intermediate Band Section at the Royal South Street Eisteddfod, where they received an Honourable Mention, recognising the high standard of their performance. Our Stage Band also represented the school admirably at the Royal South Street Eisteddfod, delivering an excellent performance and earning a well-deserved Third Place.

In another fantastic result, students from our Rising Stars Band and Concert Band combined to compete in the Beginner Band Section achieving a podium finish and being awarded Second Place.

These achievements reflect the considerable effort, perseverance and enthusiasm of our student musicians, as well as the support of their families and staff. Congratulations to all students involved on these outstanding results and for their continued hard work and dedication. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish throughout the remainder of the year.

ACC RAAF Concert Band Workshop 

Last Friday, 27 of our Concert Band students travelled to Emmanuel College’s Notre Dame Campus to participate in a workshop hosted by the RAAF Concert band. These students were treated to a concert by the RAAF as well as both a junior and senior workshop where they were able to sit next to a learn from seasoned professionals. An excellent day was had by all.

SPC In Concert

On Wednesday evening, our music community came together for the annual SPC in Concert, a highlight of the College's performing arts calendar. The concert showcased the incredible talent, dedication and growth of our student musicians, with students from all of our ensembles taking to the stage throughout the evening.

The audience was treated to a diverse program of performances from our concert bands, stage band, ensembles and senior music students, each demonstrating a high level of musicianship and commitment. The evening provided an opportunity for students of all year levels to share the results of their hard work and celebrate their achievements with family, friends and the wider school community.

SPC in Concert was a wonderful celebration of music-making at the College and highlighted the strength, depth and vibrancy of our music program. Congratulations to all performers and staff involved in delivering such a successful and enjoyable evening.
