Cubs Club

At our Cubs Club meeting this week, we meet Monica who will be joning us from time to time at our meetings.
Read all about what our cubs did this week:
At Cubs Club today (20 August), we enjoyed one of our favourite activities-the blindfold game! To participate, we split up into partners. One person puts the blindfold on over their eyes, and the other person gives them verbal instructions and the occasional push to guide them around the everyday obstacles in the library, such as the tables, the chairs and bookshelves.
To people who can see, we don’t see these things as challenges; just objects. But to the blind, it could seem scary and daunting. This game teaches us how tricky their lives are, encouraging empathy, and also how to give explicit directions.

Lions Recycle for Sight
We are excited to join this great humanitarian project. You can drop your prescription glasses that you no longer need off at the collection box near the office.
Stamps
The Cubs Club would like to continue with these two exciting fundraising opportunities that were started last year. We are asking the Donvale Community to collect stamps (new or used) to help raise money in providing wheelchairs for less fortunate communities.
If you have any to donate, there are collection boxes located at the school office.
We truly appreciate your support—and we know the communities we’re helping will too.
