Performing Arts
With Mrs Wilson
This term, we have been learning about Beat and Rhythm. Our grade 1 & 2 students have been focusing on a Super Mario theme and learning simple rhythmic patterns such as "pow" (quarter note) "super" (eighth note) "Mario" (triplet) "Princess Daisy" (sixteenth note).
Students have been practicing their own rhythmic patterns and playing them with simple percussion instruments such as castanets, triangles and rhythm sticks.

This term in performing arts we have been learning about beat and rhythm in music. We have had a wonderfully noisy time practicing rhythmic patterns using our friends “beet” (quarter note) “cherry” (eighth note) and “shhh” (rest). The children took turns creating their own patterns and playing them with instruments.
