Foundation: Mrs Fleming
What an action-packed term it has been in Foundation! As we come to the end of a busy and exciting term, our Foundation students are certainly ready for a well-deserved break to rest, recharge and enjoy some time with their families.
A highlight from this fortnight has been the F–1 Fun Day in Shepparton, where we visited Rebound and the All-Abilities Playground. Our students represented our school so positively, demonstrating kindness, enthusiasm and wonderful behaviour throughout the day. It was fantastic to see everyone having so much fun, making memories and enjoying the day together!
In Maths, we have wrapped up our learning on sharing and grouping. Students have grown in confidence when identifying equal groups, sharing objects equally into different groups and even working with 'leftovers'. We have had lots of fun using various items from around our classroom to demonstrate our learning.
In Literacy, we have continued building our skills in reading and writing 'Tricky Words' and writing words, while also enjoying our storybook lessons. Recently we have read the stories 'The Potato People' and 'There's a Bear on My Chair'. We finished our learning with some fun and creative craft activities, allowing students to use their imaginations and bring the stories to life.
This week in Religion with Mrs Hill, our Foundation students explored the Creation story through Godly Play. Students moved through a variety of stations, engaging in thoughtful 'wonderings' as they reflected on the beauty of God's creation. It was wonderful to see everybody exploring, wondering and making connections through this learning experience.
We would like to wish all our Foundation students and their families a wonderful and relaxing holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term, feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning!
Grade 1/2: Mrs McKiernan & Mrs Tyler
In Religion we have completed our unit on Let's Care for Creation. Throughout the second half of the term, we have talked about actions we could do to care for creation and explained why caring for creation is important. We have made a display with 'Helping Hands for our Common Good' and written different reasons how we can help our Earth.
In Grade 1 English we have finished writing our recount of events from when we made and used our cloud spotters. We have learnt about three types of clouds; cirrus which are thin and wispy, stratus which are flat and can bring light rain, and cumulus which are fluffy and appear on sunny days. We have sent the cloud spotters home so hopefully the students can get a chance to show you how to use them and explain the different types of clouds we have been learning.
Grade 1/2: Miss Wooden
The Grade 1 students had an amazing time at the F/1 Fun Day. They loved the visit to Rebound and jumping on the giant pillow!
We have been learning to tell the time. While the Grade 1 students were at the Fun Day we practiced out with some chalk. It was really great to see what the student could remember about what a clock looks like and how to read the time.

Grade 3: Miss Taylor
It's all go go go in Grade 3!
In Maths, we started our new unit on 3D shapes, which has quickly become a favourite! We've been exploring different shapes through hands-on activities, guessing games, drawings and even putting our knowledge to the test with 3D shape bingo. Lots of learning and lots of fun!
We had a fantastic Marvellous Men's morning to celebrate Father's Day, with a delicious hot breakfast and an awesome footy workshop. We loved welcoming so many special men into our school. We also showed our sporting spirit (or rivalry!) by dressing in our favourite team colours for the day!
We celebrated R U OK? Day by wearing yellow and having some important conversations about checking in on our friends and making sure those around us know we care.
In English, our Grade 3s are loving our persuasive writing unit! We've been learning how to use strong arguments and persuasive language to convince our readers. We hope they're putting those skills to good use at home and trying to persuade you all that a robot would make the perfect addition to the family!
We are officially on the home stretch of Term 3 — can you believe it?! We are looking forward to our Grade 3 Liturgy and celebrating all that our students have achieved this term. We hope to see lots of our families there!

It has certainly been a term full of learning, laughter, new experiences and plenty of special memories. We are so proud of our Grade 3s and can't wait to finish the term on a high!
Grade 4/5: Mrs Stock
Last week, the Grade 4/5 students had lots of fun wrapping up our Measurement unit with a range of hands-on activities. Students enjoyed estimating and measuring the capacity of different containers, using litres and millilitres and comparing their estimates with the actual measurements.
Students also worked together in the Tower Competition, aiming to build the tallest free-standing tower, and participated in the Sandcastle/Playdough Competition. Congratulations to Charlie, Will and George, who were the winners of our Tower Competition!
We have also finished our Location unit. Students particularly enjoyed playing Battleships with their classmates while developing their understanding of coordinates and how to describe and locate positions.
The Grade 5 students have almost finished their class novel, Can You See Me? by Libby Scott and Rebecca Westcott. Throughout the novel, students have followed Tally’s experiences as she navigates friendships, school and the challenges she faces along the way. The story has led to some thoughtful class discussions around understanding, acceptance and empathy, and students have enjoyed sharing their ideas, making predictions and discussing the characters and events in the story.
As we come to the end of Term 3, we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable break and has the chance to relax and recharge. We look forward to a fun final term together!
Grade 5/6: Miss Rasmussen
We are cruising into holiday mode, knowing that our first few days back will be spent by the beach on camp! We cannot wait for plenty of beach activities, new experiences and loads of fun together at Cottage by the Sea.
In Maths, we have just finished our unit on location. We enjoyed exploring coordinates through hands-on learning experiences, including playing Battleships while learning about Cartesian planes. Using the memory trick of walking along the ground before climbing the trees, we are now confident plotting and locating given coordinates.
In English, we are writing persuasive letters to Mrs Stockdale to convince her that our school needs a therapy dog. This links closely to our class novel, Can You See Me?, as the main character, Tally, finds that spending time with a dog helps to ease her anxiety. As we continue reading, we are developing a greater understanding of Tally, her experience of autism and some of the challenges faced by her and her family.
We hope everyone enjoys a relaxing holiday break, ready for an exciting start to Term 4!
