A Mid-Year Reflection from Year 12

With the year 12s now reaching halfway through their last year, it’s time for us all to look back and reminisce.

Camp:

I think each one of us in year 12 can say that the year 12 camp was a blast. It was a new environment from what our relationships formed in and allowed us to bond over team-building activities like surrey biking, frisbee golf, and my personal favourite, the tower games. Our time at the Outside Inn was the perfect thing to help us relax before our final and hardest year of high school.

Sport festivals:

For our last swimming sports, we made sure to go all out on our chants and costumes. In earlier years, the year 12 groups before us would be excited and trying to get everyone to join in. Now we could understand their view and saw that when it’s the last time you get to do something, it feels more special, and you can’t help but want to have a great time, no matter who wins.

Excursions:

Only halfway through the year, yet the year 12 science classes have already been on multiple, eye-opening excursions. One of which was a trip to Federation University in Ballarat for our Biology class, where we were introduced to our new unit involving immunology.

Mid-Year:

Our most recent event, Mid-Year, was a refreshing outing. Our first time as an entire group hanging out, without anything to do with school, helped to give us the independence needed to plan nice events like this and enjoy a nice dinner together.
